First year success story for young Phoenix
3/09/2008 | SOCCER: It has been a fantastic first up effort for the junior sides from the South West Phoenix which joined the State League in Division two this year. Last Sunday the Phoenix U13s travelled to Perth to they play their last match in the home and away league series.

3/09/2008 | That’s what I like about footy A very good sized crowd made their way to Kelly Park last Sunday to witness the top of the table clash between the giants of South West football in 2008, Carey Park and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and they did not go away disappointed. Weather leading up to the match had been pretty ordinary and threatened to put a damper on the contest.

27/08/2008 | ATHLETICS: Adam Road primary has had its name etched onto the State primary school cross country championships for a record eighth year in a row. But it was a tough event and Adam Road only won by a slight margin of 25 points, barely a few positions over all, to metropolitan school Connolly Primary. Principal Larry Gleeson said the whole school was thrilled with the result at Perry Lakes in Perth earlier this month.

Local netballers take top honour
20/08/2008 | NETBALL:Bunbury Catholic College is officially the best highschool netball team in Western Australia. After winning the South West High Schools Cup in Bunbury in May, Bunbury Catholic College went on to compete in Fremantle and after winning a semi final by one goal in July advanced to the grand final last week.

13/08/2008 | Shooting: A TEAM of five Bunbury shooters have ended the 2008 shooting season with multiple wins at the South West Rifle Association handicap team shooting championships. With handicap adjustment, the Bunbury five took handicap honours, the Hornibrook Shield and the Chas Murray Cup at the Cooliup range in Capel.
